Wakefield City Council is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Children's Locality Team. This role involves undertaking assessments, Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), Pre-Proceedings (PLO), and Court Work. The position is strictly office-based and offers a non-negotiable pay rate of £35 per hour (umbrella) under MOU rates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify risks and needs, ensuring timely interventions for children and families.
- Manage Child in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) cases, ensuring effective planning and safeguarding.
- Handle Pre-Proceedings (PLO) and Court Work, preparing legal documents and attending hearings as required.
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency professionals, including health, education, and legal teams, to support children's welfare.
- Ensure compliance with statutory guidelines, local authority policies, and safeguarding procedures.
- Maintain accurate case records, ensuring high-quality reporting and effective decision-making.
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
- Minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience in a Local Authority children's team.
- Proven expertise in assessments, CIN, CP, PLO, and Court Work.
- Strong knowledge of child protection legislation, risk assessment, and legal proceedings.
- Office-based working only - remote or hybrid work is not available.
- DFE form must be attached to applications.
