**About the Role:**
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Independent Reviewing Officer to join the Safeguarding and Reviewing Unit in Wakefield.
The Safeguarding and Review Unit boasts a team of experienced and knowledgeable professionals who chair Child Protection Conferences, Child in Care Reviews, LADO, Foster Carer Reviews, and conduct Regulation 44 visits within Wakefield. The service collaborates closely with both internal and external partners to ensure positive outcomes for children and young people navigating statutory services in Wakefield.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Chair Child Protection Conferences and Child in Care Reviews.
- Conduct LADO, Foster Carer Reviews, and Regulation 44 visits.
- Work in close collaboration with internal and external partners.
- Support the achievement of positive outcomes for children and young people.
- Develop and promote a culture of restorative practice within the team and with the families we serve.
- Influence social work practice through supportive links with teams.
- Engage in collaborative quality assurance and audit work with social workers.
**About You:**
- Experienced in chairing Child Protection Conferences and Child in Care Reviews.
- Knowledgeable in conducting LADO, Foster Carer Reviews, and Regulation 44 visits.
- Committed to developing a restorative practice approach.
- Skilled in working collaboratively with various partners to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people.
- Able to influence and support social work practice through quality assurance and audit activities.
