#### Role Purpose
As the Service Manager for Family & Adolescent Safeguarding for Surrey Council, you will lead a geographically based team focused on keeping children safe within their families. You will manage multi-disciplinary teams addressing parental mental health, substance misuse, and domestic abuse, while fostering a culture of respect and partnership with families. Your role will also involve close collaboration with schools, health services, voluntary organizations, and police to ensure comprehensive care and protection for children and young people.
#### Key Responsibilities
- **Leadership:** Lead and manage a Family Safeguarding and Safeguarding Adolescent service.
- **Partnership Working:** Collaborate with partners to address risks and ensure children's needs are met.
- **Case Management:** Ensure up-to-date case summaries, SMART multi-agency plans, and reflective supervision for staff.
- **Legal Collaboration:** Work with legal services and family courts to manage effective court proceedings.
- **Staff Development:** Support newly qualified social workers and promote staff retention through high-quality supervision.
- **Performance Culture:** Develop and maintain a performance culture, ensuring quality assurance and systematic tracking of cases.
- **Risk Management:** Manage risks in service delivery and contribute to the corporate risk management framework.
- **Service Development:** Drive change, evaluate service provision, and implement innovative solutions for high-quality service delivery.
- **Budget Management:** Plan and monitor budget allocation to ensure maximum value and effective resource use.
#### Qualifications and Experience
- **Professional Qualification:** CQSW or Diploma in Social Work (DipSW) or other relevant qualification recognized by the HCPC.
- **Experience:** Substantial experience in senior management within statutory services, assessing needs, and direct work with children and young people.
- **Skills:** Strong leadership, motivational, and partnership working skills, with a track record of improving outcomes for children and families.
- **Knowledge:** Extensive knowledge of national and local policy, statutory guidance, and legislation in health and social care services.
- **Other Requirements:** Satisfactory DBS clearance and willingness to travel and work flexibly.
