Oxfordshire County Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Team Manager to join our Family Solution Plus Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting and enhancing the services we provide to children and families in our community.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Referral Management: Oversee the allocation and timely progression of new referrals through the duty system, under the direction of the team manager.
2. Performance Management: Assist the team manager in monitoring and improving team performance to ensure statutory duties are met, striving to meet key performance targets.
3. Practice Improvement: Lead efforts to enhance practice quality, including assessments and care planning, by facilitating team meetings, workshops, and updating staff on developments and research.
4. Family Solution Plus Model: Ensure work with families progresses timely within the FSP model, adhering to the model's modules, and attend group case supervision as required.
5. Case Supervision: Lead group case supervision in the absence of the team manager, focusing on children and families.
6. Staff Induction: Support the induction process for new staff members.
7. Meeting Coordination: Convene and chair multi-agency meetings, including core group meetings, strategy meetings, and planning meetings.
8. Multi-Agency Collaboration: Ensure effective multi-agency collaboration with partner agencies and adult-facing practitioners within the FSP teams.
9. Legal Casework Support: Assist social workers with legal casework, including pre-proceedings and care proceedings, ensuring timely and quality submissions.
10. Quality Assessments: Ensure child and family assessments are completed to a high standard and within proportionate timescales.
11. High Standards of Practice: Promote and maintain high standards of practice that prioritize the needs of children and young people.
12. Quality Assurance: Participate in the Service's Quality Assurance Framework, including conducting monthly and themed audits.
13. Partnership Working: Support social workers in working collaboratively with children and their families.
14. Care Planning: Ensure all children have a clear care plan to promote their development, well-being, and protection from harm.
15. Anti-Discriminatory Practice: Actively promote anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive practices, addressing discrimination in the workplace and with service users.
16. IT Competence: Use the service's electronic communications system and promote IT use within the team.
17. Record Keeping: Maintain high standards of electronic social care recording for all children.
18. Risk Management: Ensure compliance with procedures for responding to risks of significant harm to children.
19. Documentation Standards: Ensure court statements, child protection conferences, and review documents meet high standards and reflect the views of children, families, and carers.
20. Procedure Compliance: Follow procedures for authorizing care packages, placements, financial expenditure, and child accommodation.
21. Performance Management: Address poor performance promptly, including through the Council's Capability & Disciplinary procedures.
22. Advocacy: Advocate for children and young people to ensure they access the services they need.
23. Participation Promotion: Encourage the participation of children and young people in meetings about them.
24. Family Group Conferencing: Utilize the Family Group Conferencing process effectively.
