Job Description:
Oxfordshire County Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Practice Supervisor to join our Adult Safeguarding team. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, requiring 3 days per week in the office at either Abingdon or Banbury. As a Practice Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective supervision of staff and decision-making in safeguarding adults triage. Your expertise will contribute significantly to the safety and well-being of vulnerable adults in our community.
Key Responsibilities:
Staff Supervision: Oversee and support staff in their roles, including triaging and carrying out safeguarding enquiries.
Decision Maker: Act as the decision maker in safeguarding adults triage, ensuring timely and appropriate responses.
Section 42 Enquiries: Carry out Section 42 enquiries, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
Deputising: Deputise for the Team Manager as required, ensuring continuity and leadership within the team.
Meetings Attendance: Represent the team at MAPPA (Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements), MARAC (Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences), and other relevant meetings.
Chairing Meetings: Chair Strategy Meetings and Case Conferences to coordinate safeguarding efforts and decision-making.
Performance Management: Monitor and manage the performance of the team, ensuring high standards of practice and service delivery.
Requirements:
Qualifications: A recognized social work qualification and current registration with Social Work England.
Experience: Significant experience in adult safeguarding and supervisory roles within social work.
Skills: Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills. Ability to manage and support a team effectively.
Knowledge: In-depth understanding of safeguarding adults legislation, policies, and best practices.
Commitment: A commitment to promoting the safety, rights, and well-being of vulnerable adults.
