We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Social Worker Manager to join our Learning Disability and Autism Team in Newcastle. As part of the Adults Social Care service, you will play a pivotal role in managing and leading a dedicated team of social workers, providing high-quality care and support to adults with learning disabilities and autism.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of qualified social workers, ensuring the delivery of person-centered, outcome-focused services to adults with learning disabilities and autism.
Oversee case management, ensuring that all cases are handled efficiently, ethically, and in compliance with legal and statutory requirements.
Provide professional supervision, support, and development to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, to ensure holistic care planning and support for individuals.
Act as a key decision-maker in complex cases, ensuring the safeguarding and well-being of service users.
Contribute to service development initiatives, promoting best practices in learning disability and autism care.
Manage resources effectively, ensuring the team operates within budget while maintaining high standards of care.
Requirements:
A degree in Social Work and current registration with Social Work England.
Proven experience in adult social care, with a focus on learning disabilities and autism.
Demonstrated leadership and management experience within a social work setting.
Strong understanding of relevant legislation, including the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding protocols.
Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
