Southend City Council is offering an exciting opportunity for a qualified Social Worker to join their Mental Health team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role focuses on supporting adults and young people transitioning to adult social care, promoting independence, well-being, and choice. You will play a key role in empowering individuals to identify and build solutions that allow them to live safe, healthy, and fulfilling lives.
Role Responsibilities:
* Undertake Care Act (2014) assessments, carers assessments, statutory reviews, NHS Continuing Healthcare assessments, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, safeguarding enquiries, and Mental Capacity Act (2005) assessments.
* Manage a complex and diverse caseload while maintaining high standards of social work practice.
* Collaborate with health and social care colleagues and other partners to ensure effective service delivery and innovative practice.
* Provide professional support and supervision to student or newly qualified social workers and unqualified staff.
* Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to practice improvements.

Requirements:
* Qualification: Degree in Social Work and registration with Social Work England.
* Experience: Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience, with a focus on adult social care.
* Skills: Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills, along with the ability to manage competing demands.
* Enhanced DBS Check: Required for this role.
