Eden Brown Synergy have an exciting new opportunity in Gateshead Council for an experienced Social Worker within a FDAC (Family Drug and Alcohol Court) team
* Provide assessment and intervention to parents, children, and young people within the multi-disciplinary Family Drug and Alcohol Court (FDAC).
* Serve as a keyworker, leading interventions as part of the treatment plan, and refer to other professionals or agencies as needed.
* Collaborate with the FDAC team to develop intervention plans, conducting comprehensive assessments of mental health and substance use, and implementing tailored interventions.
* Offer consultation, information, advice, and court reports regarding mental health issues to support the FDAC model.
* Deliver therapeutic interventions for substance use, parenting, and mental health, utilizing methods such as counseling, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, trauma-informed practice, and other supportive therapies.
* Perform community-based drug and alcohol screenings in family homes and other community settings.
* Review and raise awareness of protocols between drug and alcohol services and child protection services.
* Provide systemic assessments and interventions for children, young people, and their families referred to FDAC North East, addressing highly complex needs.
* Collaborate with other health and social care staff from various agencies to support clients care.
* Develop formal assessment and treatment plans using a conceptual framework and evidence-based methods.
* Make skilled evaluations and decisions about assessment and treatment options, considering both theoretical and therapeutic models and complex historical and developmental factors.
* Implement a range of interventions for individuals, carers, families, groups, and professional networks, refining approaches as needed.
* Take full responsibility for client assessment and treatment, regularly communicating with referral agents and convening multi-professional meetings as required.
* Provide expertise, advice, and consultation to professionals, contributing to treatment plans for referred families.
* Conduct risk assessments and risk management for individual parents and families.
* Communicate assessment, formulation, and treatment plans with sensitivity, monitoring progress in both individual and multi-disciplinary care.
* Produce high-quality court reports and attend court as necessary.
* Maintain high standards of record-keeping, preparing reports for internal use and external agencies, and ensuring effective communication with referrers and professionals.
Requirements:
* Social Work England registration.
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
* Full UK driving license.
* Social Work Qualification (degree or equivalent).
* Minimum of 2 years' experience as a social worker within children's services.
