An exciting opportunity has arisen for two full-time Locum Occupational Therapists to join the Disability Services Team in Bury. This role is ideal for experienced and proactive OTs looking to make an immediate impact by addressing backlog casework. You will work with a small, supportive team that is committed to improving the quality of life and independence of individuals with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide holistic, person-centred assessments for service users and their carers, focusing on improving independence and reducing risk.
Assess the needs of individuals with physical disabilities (and potentially mental health needs), and take appropriate action to address those needs.
Recommend and provide daily living equipment, as well as minor and major home adaptations.
Utilize your expertise in moving and handling, staying up-to-date with the latest equipment and techniques.
Collaborate closely with partners in health and housing, maintaining strong communication with various professionals.
Manage a caseload independently and work efficiently to support the service in reducing the backlog of cases.

Candidate Profile:
Degree in Occupational Therapy.
Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Minimum of 2-3 years' experience working with individuals aged 18+ who have physical disabilities and potentially mental health needs.
Ability to start and manage backlog casework efficiently and autonomously.
Experience in moving and handling, with up-to-date knowledge of relevant equipment and techniques.
Strong interpersonal, decision-making, and organisational skills.
Ability to explain and encourage, building confidence and rapport with service users and professionals alike.
Essential car driver, with a willingness to travel when required.
Health & Safety:
Awareness of health and safety issues is essential, and candidates must adhere to relevant policies and procedures.
