Knowsley Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Team Manager (TM) to lead our Combined Localities Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated leader to manage a team of social workers and support staff, driving excellence in adult social care services and making a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable adults.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and management to the Combined Localities Team, ensuring the effective delivery of services to adults with a range of needs, including those with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, and mental health conditions.
Oversee the management of caseloads, ensuring cases are allocated appropriately, and team members are supported in meeting performance targets and statutory requirements.
Lead on safeguarding and risk management, ensuring all safeguarding referrals are handled in line with legislation and Knowsley Council's policies.
Supervise and provide guidance to social workers and support staff, promoting professional development and ensuring high standards of practice.
Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams and external partners, such as healthcare professionals and voluntary organisations, to deliver coordinated services.
Ensure compliance with the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and other relevant legislation.
Monitor and report on team performance, producing regular reports and analysing key performance indicators (KPIs).
Participate in service development initiatives, contributing to the improvement and modernisation of adult social care services.
Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England.
Proven experience in a management role within adult social care, ideally in a local authority setting.
Strong understanding of adult safeguarding, the Care Act 2014, and other relevant social care legislation.
Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and support staff in delivering high-quality services.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
