Cheshire West Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Educational Psychologist to provide specialist psychological advice as part of a childs Education, Health, and Care Needs Assessment. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children in achieving their full potential through tailored assessments and interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide psychological advice and assessments as part of the Education, Health, and Care (EHC) Needs Assessment process.
Conduct face-to-face assessments with children and young people, working closely with schools, families, and multidisciplinary teams to identify their needs and appropriate interventions.
Offer expert guidance and recommendations for education plans, support strategies, and mental health provisions.
Write detailed, clear, and concise reports based on assessments, ensuring they meet statutory guidelines and contribute to the development of comprehensive EHC Plans.
Collaborate with educators, parents, and carers to ensure that the psychological advice provided translates into practical support in educational settings.
Requirements:
Qualified Educational Psychologist with current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Proven experience providing psychological assessments and advice for children and young people.
Strong understanding of the EHC Needs Assessment process and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) legislation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and professionals.
Willingness to undertake face-to-face work only (no remote working options).
Additional Information:
Each psychological advice assessment typically takes two working days to complete.
Flexible working days can be considered.
