An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Social Work Practitioner to join the Adult Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, based in Salford. This role involves providing leadership in social work and social care, supporting complex casework, and ensuring high standards of practice across the team.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Supervision: Provide leadership in social work and social care within the CMHT, offering line management and professional supervision, and consultation on complex cases.
Reduced Caseload: Carry a significantly reduced CPA caseload, enabling time to focus on team support and leadership.
Safeguarding Oversight: Lead on adult and child safeguarding, including oversight of s.42 enquiries, chairing planning and outcomes meetings, and working with partner agencies to address safeguarding concerns in a person-centered manner.
AMHP Responsibilities: If qualified, act as an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) on a rota basis and contribute to the AMHP Manager rota if suitably experienced.
Promoting Independence: Support service users in maintaining their independence, promoting social inclusion, and helping them achieve their chosen lifestyle.
Team Leadership: Assist the Team Manager in providing leadership and ensuring the effective delivery of high-quality services.
Collaboration: Work with multidisciplinary teams, partner agencies, and families to achieve the best outcomes for service users.
Requirements:
Social Work Qualification and registration with Social Work England.
Experience working in community mental health services or similar settings.
Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in supervising social workers.
Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and practice, with experience in s.42 enquiries.
AMHP qualification (preferred but not essential).
Commitment to promoting independence and well-being for adults of working age.
Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
