Are you a skilled Occupational Therapist with experience in community assessments and housing adaptations? We are seeking an experienced Specialist Housing OT to join our team in Liverpool, carrying out vital local authority assessments and helping individuals maintain their independence at home.
Role Overview:
As a Specialist Housing OT, you will assess clients within the community, determining their needs for both standard and specialist equipment, and recommending minor and major adaptations to their homes. Your expertise will ensure that individuals are provided with the necessary support to live safely and independently.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive community-based assessments for individuals requiring equipment and housing adaptations
Recommend and facilitate the installation of minor and major adaptations, including ramps, stairlifts, and bathroom modifications
Complete manual handling assessments and ensure safe procedures are in place for clients and carers
Work collaboratively with housing teams, contractors, and other professionals to deliver effective solutions
Maintain detailed and accurate case records, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards
Provide guidance on specialist equipment and ensure timely delivery of necessary modifications
Requirements:
Qualified Occupational Therapist with relevant registration (HCPC)
Proven experience working in a local authority setting, conducting community-based assessments
Confidence and competence in manual handling assessments and recommendations
Knowledge of housing adaptation processes and relevant legislation
Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills
Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team environment
