This pivotal role involves shaping the strategic and operational development of integrated Learning Disability and Mental Health services to ensure the highest standards of provision are met.
Key Responsibilities:
* Strategic Direction: Lead the strategic planning for Learning Disability, Autism, and Mental Health services, anticipating changes, mitigating risks, and implementing innovative strategies.
* Service Coordination: Oversee service plans in partnership with health, ensuring regular evaluation and implementation of improvements.
* High Performance Culture: Foster an environment of continuous improvement, efficiency, and excellence within the service.
* Budget Management: Be accountable for significant budgets, ensuring value for money and long-term financial planning.
* Leadership and Workforce Development: Inspire and support the workforce, ensuring they are effectively deployed, trained, and qualified.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external partners to inform and enhance service delivery.
* Transformation Leadership: Guide teams through change, promoting innovative solutions and challenging conventional approaches when needed.
* Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure robust quality assurance systems and governance frameworks are in place, meeting statutory requirements and best practices.
* Policy Implementation: Align local service objectives with national and regional strategies, ensuring clinical models remain fit for purpose.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
* Strong knowledge of statutory responsibilities, including the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, and Mental Health Act.
* Demonstrated ability to lead, co-produce, and devise innovative solutions in learning disability and mental health services.
* Proven track record in budget management, strategic leadership, and performance improvement.
* Expertise in fostering safeguarding practices and implementing strength-based approaches to service delivery.
* Experience in working with multi-agency partnerships, contributing to strategic development, and chairing complex decision-making forums.
