Key Responsibilities:
1. Chair Foster Carer Reviews: Lead and manage reviews for Bury's in-house foster carers, ensuring best practices and high standards are upheld.
2. Feedback Collection: Gather insights from foster carers, Independent Reviewing Officers (IROs), childrens social workers, and the children themselves regarding the care provided.
3. High-Quality Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports with actionable recommendations for foster carers continued approval, to be reviewed by the fostering panel.
4. Independent Chairing: Provide independent chairing for multi-agency and departmental meetings on Child Protection, Looked After Children, Private Fostering, Supervision Orders, and missing children cases.
5. Best Practice Advocacy: Promote outstanding care and safety planning for Burys children, collaborating with senior managers to ensure excellence.
6. Quality Monitoring: Monitor and enhance the local authority's role as a 'Corporate Parent' by identifying areas of improvement and promoting best practices.
7. Specialist Consultancy: Offer expert advice and consultation to departmental staff and external agencies.
8. Agency Collaboration: Foster strong, transparent relationships with other agencies and community networks.
9. Regulation Compliance: Ensure adherence to Child Protection and Looked After Children regulations, providing a consistent and high-quality service.
10. Child Participation: Advocate for childrens rights and ensure their voices are reflected in all decisions and services.
11. Audits and Quality Assurance: Conduct regular departmental audits, providing feedback to improve service delivery and outcomes.
Essential Requirements:
* Social Work Qualification: Degree or equivalent.
* Experience: Minimum of 5 years in childrens services or fostering teams.
* Registration: Social Work England Registration.
* Driving License: Must have a valid driving license and access to your own vehicle.
