About the Role
As a Senior Social Worker in the Assessment & Intervention Service, you will:
Undertake social work on allocated cases, producing outcome-based plans that address the needs and risks of children and families.
Build effective relationships with children, young people, and families, ensuring their voices are central to decision-making.
Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to provide integrated and effective support.
Use evidence-based practice to inform assessments, interventions, and risk management.
Take part in auditing activities to ensure high standards of practice and contribute to continuous service improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Assessment & Planning:
Complete assessments of childrens and families needs.
Develop intervention plans and support networks, including family network meetings or family group conferences.
Case Management:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with statutory and council policies.
Prepare professional reports and present cases in multi-agency settings.
Collaboration:
Work effectively with internal teams and external partners, including health, education, police, and voluntary organizations.
Quality Assurance & Development:
Participate in supervision, routine audits, and reflective practice to enhance skills and service delivery.
Identify personal learning needs and engage in continuous professional development.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications:
Social Work England registered with a professional social work qualification.
Experience:
Significant post-qualification experience in children and family social work.
Expertise in assessments, intervention planning, and multi-agency collaboration.
Court work experience is advantageous.
Skills & Knowledge:
Strong understanding of the Children's Act, especially sections 17 and 47.
Excellent communication skills to engage children and families effectively.
Ability to assess and manage risks and use resources efficiently to promote child and family well-being.
