About the Role
Central Bedfordshire Council is offering an exciting opportunity for a Team Manager within our Integrated Front Door (IFD/MASH) team. This multi-agency, integrated team provides a single point of contact for reporting concerns about child safety and well-being. By facilitating real-time information sharing among professionals, the IFD/MASH ensures families receive the right support at the right time.
As a Team Manager, you will oversee daily operations, ensuring high-quality decision-making and safeguarding outcomes. You'll play a key role in guiding a collaborative team of social workers and partner agencies, supporting vulnerable children and families through integrated and innovative service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate the daily operations of the Integrated Front Door, ensuring seamless collaboration among multi-agency partners (Police, Health, IDVA, KIDVA, Drug and Alcohol Services, Education, and Youth Services).
Sign off all safeguarding contacts and referrals, ensuring high-quality decision-making and timely responses.
Supervise Senior Social Workers and social work-qualified staff, providing guidance and support in their roles.
Attend multi-agency meetings, provide strategic oversight, and participate in audit activities to maintain service quality.
Ensure robust quality assurance (QA) processes are in place for all contact referrals.
Actively contribute to the development of innovative service delivery models that benefit children and families.
Monitor and manage team performance, ensuring compliance with statutory responsibilities and council policies.
Requirements
Proven experience in managing a MASH team or similar integrated front-door services.
Extensive knowledge of safeguarding practices and the ability to sign off and quality-assure referrals.
Strong leadership and supervisory skills to guide and support a team of social work professionals.
Experience in working with multi-agency partnerships to achieve positive outcomes for children and families.
Excellent decision-making, communication, and organizational skills.
Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
