Job Title: Social Worker - Family Safeguarding Team
Pay Rate: £39 p/h (umbrella)
Location: Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 2/3 days in the office
About the Role
Join the Family Safeguarding Team in Huntingdon, where you will work with children and families to ensure safety and well-being. This role involves carrying out statutory responsibilities under the Children Act and managing cases at various stages of intervention, including CIN, CP, and CIC cases.
Key Responsibilities
Case Management:
Hold and manage a caseload involving Children in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Children in Care (CIC).
Handle cases in Public Law Outline (PLO) or Section 31 Care Proceedings with support from senior practitioners or the Team Manager.
Statutory Duties:
Complete statutory visits for CIN, CP, and CIC cases.
Manage and assess risks, ensuring that safeguarding measures are in place.
Report Writing & Meetings:
Write and present court reports, risk assessments, and parenting assessments.
Chair CIN and Core Group Meetings.
Attend Initial Child Protection Conferences (ICPC) and Review Child Protection Conferences (RCPC), producing high-quality conference reports.
Team Collaboration:
Participate in the Duty Rota to support team operations.
Work closely with senior practitioners and multi-agency partners to achieve the best outcomes for children.
Ideal Candidate
Qualifications:
Registered with Social Work England with a professional social work qualification.
Experience:
Strong background in managing CIN, CP, and CIC cases.
Knowledge of PLO and court processes, including the completion of court reports.
Experience with statutory safeguarding practices and risk assessments.
Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and presenting in court.
Effective risk management and decision-making abilities.
Ability to work under pressure and meet statutory deadlines.
