Job Title: Qualified Social Worker - Fostering (Connected Carers) Team
Pay Rate: Upto £38 per hour

Role Overview
Medway Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Qualified Social Worker to join the Fostering (Connected Carers) Team. In this role, you will support connected carers and children placed in their care. You'll conduct assessments, attend court and fostering panel proceedings, and provide the highest level of safeguarding to children to help them reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Case Management:
Manage a varied caseload of connected carers and children placed in connected carers arrangements.
Provide effective support and guidance to carers to promote stability and positive outcomes for children.
Assessment and Reporting:
Undertake Special Guardianship, Viability, and Connected Carers assessments, ensuring timely completion within regulated deadlines.
Prepare high-quality reports for Court or Fostering Panels and present findings as required.
Safeguarding:
Assess, plan, and implement evidence-based safeguarding measures to ensure children's safety and well-being.
Collaboration:
Work collaboratively in multi-professional and multi-agency groups.
Take the lead in professional meetings to ensure a unified approach to care and support.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate, up-to-date written and computerised records in line with legislative requirements and council procedures.
Advocacy:
Represent Medway Council at court hearings, fostering panels, and other forums, advocating for the best interests of children and carers.
Candidate Requirements
Qualifications:
Social Work degree or equivalent.
Registration with Social Work England.
Experience:
Strong background in fostering, connected carers, or children's services.
Proven ability to complete assessments and reports to a high standard.
Experience with safeguarding and multi-agency collaboration.
Skills:
Strong analytical, assessment, and decision-making skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to meet strict deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
