Role Overview
Slough Children First is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to join the Safeguarding and Family Support Service. This role focuses on urgent Priority 1 and 2 child protection referrals, working to keep children and young people safe from significant harm. You will carry out assessments, work with families to secure permanency, and support children at risk of sexual abuse or exhibiting sexually abusive behaviour.

Key Responsibilities
? Child Protection & Risk Assessment
Respond to urgent child protection referrals under S47 of the Children Act.
Assess risk levels and determine appropriate interventions.
Work with children who have been sexually abused and those who exhibit sexually abusive behaviours.
? Permanency Planning & Court Work
Secure permanency within families or through court processes.
Work on cases involving PLO, adoption, post-adoption, and court proceedings.
? Case Management & Multi-Agency Work
Build effective relationships with children, young people, and families.
Work in partnership with schools, police, health professionals, and voluntary organisations.
Use evidence-based practice to create outcome-focused plans.
? Hybrid Working & Professional Development
Hybrid working: 3 days per week in the office.
Regular supervision and access to professional development opportunities.
Work within a supportive and collaborative team.
Candidate Requirements
? Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
? Experience in child protection, safeguarding, and family support
? Knowledge of the Children Act 1989, particularly Sections 17 & 47
? Strong assessment and report-writing skills (e.g., court reports, PLO assessments)
? Ability to manage complex caseloads in a fast-paced environment
? Hybrid working flexibility - able to attend the office 3 days per week
