Role Overview
Norfolk's Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team is looking for an experienced Senior Social Worker to support children and young people with complex disabilities and additional needs. The role focuses on safeguarding, care planning, and multi-agency collaboration to ensure the best outcomes for children and families.
? Hybrid Working - Office & home-based flexibility
? Managing CIN, CP, and LAC cases - Working with children under different statutory frameworks
? Complex Casework & Court Work - Including PLO and care proceedings
Key Responsibilities
? Case Management & Assessments
Hold a complex caseload of children and families within CIN, CP, and LAC frameworks.
Complete statutory assessments, including Child and Family Assessments, EHCP assessments, and Parenting Assessments.
Develop care plans and support packages tailored to the needs of children with disabilities.
? Safeguarding & Risk Management
Identify and manage safeguarding risks in line with local safeguarding policies.
Complete Section 47 (Child Protection) enquiries and work collaboratively in Strategy Meetings and ICPCs.
Support children with complex needs, autism, and life-limiting conditions.
? Court Work & Legal Proceedings
Prepare and present reports for PLO and Care Proceedings.
Work with legal teams on SGO, Adoption, and Deprivation of Liberty (DoLS) applications.
? Multi-Agency & Family Work
Work closely with health, education, and community services to coordinate care and support.
Support families with direct payments, respite care, and specialist services.
Attend EHCP (Education, Health & Care Plan) reviews and multi-agency meetings.
Candidate Requirements
? Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
? Minimum of 3 years' post-qualifying experience, ideally within a CWD, CP, or LAC team
? Experience working with children with disabilities, complex needs, or life-limiting conditions
? Strong knowledge of the Children Act 1989, Care Act 2014, and SEND legislation
? Experience in court work, PLO, and care proceedings
