North East Lincolnshire Council is seeking a Qualified Social Worker with at least 3 years of post-qualifying experience to join the Children in Care (CIC) Team. This role focuses on supporting children in long-term care, ensuring stability and positive outcomes as they transition toward independence. The position is based at a modern office in Grimsby Town Centre, with access to low-cost parking and local amenities. The role requires 3 days a week office-based working, with some flexibility in scheduling. The position offers a competitive pay rate of £35 per hour (umbrella).
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of children in long-term care, supporting them through to independence.
- Conduct regular home visits to ensure statutory requirements are met and build strong relationships with children.
- Develop care plans that focus on permanence, family relationships, life story work, and independent living skills.
- Work collaboratively with team managers, IROs, the virtual school, LAC health professionals, and family support workers to provide holistic care.
- Prepare and submit high-quality reports to support care planning and decision-making, ensuring compliance with deadlines.
- Participate in regular case and personal supervision sessions, maintaining high standards of professional practice.
- Ensure all work meets statutory requirements and aligns with the council's commitment to relationship-based practice.
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker with registration under Social Work England.
- Minimum of 3 years post-qualifying experience, with a strong background in supporting children in long-term care.
- Experience in care planning, statutory visits, and supporting children towards independence.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multi-agency professionals and internal teams.
- Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
- Commitment to working 3 days a week from the office in Grimsby, as this is a non-negotiable requirement.
