Team Manager required on a Multi Agency Safeguarding and Support Hub (MASSH)/MASH Service in Stockport Council.
Main Purpose of the Job
* To be accountable to the Service Lead for the management of referrals made to Stockport's Multi Agency Safeguarding and Support Hub (MASSH).
* To be accountable for the quality of the front-line social work service provided by the first response team located in Stockport's MASSH.
* To ensure an effective, coordinated response to needs of children, young people and families identified through MASSH enquiries.
* To identify and secure the most appropriate service to support and safeguard children and families.
* To ensure that team planning is based on systematic needs assessment and that team performance meets national and local objectives and targets agreed quality standards within national and local procedures and within available resources.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERSONAL DUTIES:
KEY AREAS
* To line manage the first response social work team.
* To work closely with all team leaders across Stockport Family to ensure a coordinated response to children and families in need of advice, help or an urgent response.
* To ensure effective communication and through put of requests for intervention to or from the out of hours social care service as appropriate.
* To ensure provision of professional leadership and supervision to the first response social workers and senior practitioners.
* To enable and lead a team culture which places children, adults and families at the heart of the service.
* To promote the vision for the Stockport Family within Stockport's MASSH.
* To keep up to date with national and local developments relevant to service area and contribute to the implementation of such developments in practice.
* To have overall responsibility and be accountable for effective service delivery from the MASSH.
* Working alongside team leaders across Stockport Family share responsibility for initiating children protection investigations, assessments of children in need and/or early help / targeted support.
* To quality assure MASSH enquiries undertaken by the first response team.
* To support the development of service business plans, workforce plans, area plans and complete annual reports and other reports as applicable to service.
* To work collaboratively and creatively with Police, schools, colleges, other Local Authorities, other agencies, the voluntary sector and other groups to design, implement and coordinate interventions for vulnerable children and young people.
* To perform any other duties that correspond reasonably with the general character of the post and that are commensurate with its level of responsibility.

Essential Requirements:
* Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
* At least 2 years' experience as a Team Manager within children's services
* Social Work England Registration
* Driving license and access to own vehicle
