We are currently seeking an experienced Social Worker to join a busy Children Team based in Weymouth in Dorset. This is a beautiful area close to Weymouth. Contracts are 37 hours per week, 3-6 month to start and then reviewed. High rates at 38ph. Flexible hybrid working available
Experienced Qualified Social Workers required for Child Protection Teams in West Dorset.
The locality teams are area teams that work alongside early help and education workers with children and their families.
What you will be doing:
You will be completing child and family assessments, working with children subject to child in need (complex) child protection, pre proceedings, care proceedings, private proceedings through to adoption. You will be part of the duty rota responding to risk and participating in strategy discussions and section 47 enquiries.
You will work alongside substance recovery workers, domestic abuse workers and colleagues trained to repair and rebuild relationships reducing our children on the edge of care.
Our average caseloads are currently 14 -18 children to promote relationship building and restorative practice.
As a Social Worker working in the Dorset, you will join a diverse multi-disciplinary high performing team. You will benefit from a strong supportive team culture centred around shared learning and reflective practice where diversity and achieving equity for all is promoted.

You will participate in monthly learning circles and reflective practice discussions providing regular protected time to reflect on practice, impact for you as a worker and those we serve and embed learning and development.
You will have the opportunity to be trained in Parent Assess, Motivational interviewing, restorative practice where relationship is at the centre as well as having many other learning opportunities. You will be required to work in a strengths based way with everyone.
Additional social work posts have been created within this new model to reduce the caseloads for social workers and promote relationship based, restorative and strengths based practice.
You will be Social Work England registered, ideally a driver with access to own car and able to reside and work in the UK
