Wirral Council is seeking an experienced and dynamic Team Manager to join our Adult Safeguarding Team within the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). This role requires strong leadership and strategic oversight to ensure a robust, timely, and appropriate response to safeguarding concerns and Section 42 Enquiries. The successful candidate will work closely with operational services and external agencies to drive forward best practices in safeguarding.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team including Advanced Practitioners, Social Workers, and Care Navigators, ensuring an efficient and timely workflow.
Ensure practice aligns with the Care Act 2014, maintaining high standards of safeguarding and social care service for adults and their carers.
Provide leadership, direction, and professional supervision to the team, ensuring compliance with statutory duties, legislative responsibilities, and KPIs.
Oversee and enhance team performance, ensuring continuous professional development and adherence to best practices.
Develop and implement effective structures, systems, and processes to support service delivery and meet performance targets.
Foster collaboration with operational services and external agencies to strengthen safeguarding measures.
Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with a valid Social Work England registration.
Significant experience in adult safeguarding and social care management.
Strong leadership, decision-making, and supervisory skills.
Comprehensive knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and Section 42 Enquiries.
Proven ability to manage performance, drive service improvements, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Excellent communication and partnership-working skills.
