Locum Qualified Social Worker (QSW) - Adults Community Team
Location: Edwin House, Second Avenue, Burton On Trent, DE14 2WF
Contract: 3-Month Locum (Two Positions Available)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (08:30 AM - 05:00 PM with 1-hour lunch break)
Pay: Competitive, based on experience
Eden Brown Synergy is recruiting for x2 Qualified Social Workers (QSWs) to join an Adults Community Team in Staffordshire. The role will be based at Edwin House, Burton On Trent, and offers a great opportunity to work within a community-based setting supporting adults with Physical Disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide effective, professional supervision to Social Workers, Social Care Staff, and students on placement.
Allocate work based on priority and capacity within the team, ensuring deadlines and performance requirements are met.
Ensure practice is in line with relevant legislation and good practice guidelines, embracing principles of least restrictiveness, personalisation, and social inclusion.
Oversee and guide staff in complex cases, working collaboratively with Social Workers and Social Care Practitioners.
Work closely with external partners (health, local councils) to deliver optimal outcomes for individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and young people transitioning into adulthood.
Support quality assurance of statutory documents, ensuring compliance with delegated responsibilities.
Chair complex MDT, Best Interest Decision, Safeguarding meetings, and case conferences, ensuring documentation and legal requirements are met.
Contribute to case records, ensuring accuracy and timely data input as per the Recording with Care guidance.
Work towards resolving complaints at the informal stage and support formal investigations as required.
Flexibility in approach to service demands as directed by the Adult Social Care Collective Leadership Team.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and out-of-hours if necessary.
Adhere to the professional ethics and disciplines of social work as described by BASW.
Essential Criteria:
HCPC Registered Qualified Social Worker
Experience in Adults Social Care, specifically with Physical Disabilities and complex safeguarding cases
Proven experience in completing Section 42 Safeguarding Enquiries
Experience working with self-neglect cases
Ability to chair complex MDT meetings and Best Interest Decision/Safeguarding case conferences
Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legislation in challenging and emotive situations
Experience in supervising and supporting staff, with a focus on improving practice and outcomes
Availability to work out of hours and flexible in approach
