Team Manager - Contextual Safeguarding (BSafe) - Barnsley Council
Pay Rate: £40 per hour (umbrella)
Hybrid Working - 3 Days Onsite at Town Hall, Barnsley
Barnsley Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Team Manager to lead the BSafe Contextual Safeguarding Team. This is a unique opportunity to oversee a team dedicated to supporting children at risk of exploitation, harm, persistent missing episodes, and complex safeguarding risks.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise a specialist team of Social Workers within the Contextual Safeguarding and Complex Risk Team.
Oversee case management for children subject to exploitation, missing episodes, harmful sexual behaviors, or youth violence.
Manage MACE (Multi-Agency Child Exploitation) meetings, daily partnership briefings, case allocations, and intelligence-sharing with police and partner agencies.
Drive continuous professional development across the team and wider children's services.
Support the development of strategic and operational responses to exploitation and complex risk.
Contribute to workforce development, quality assurance, and case supervision to ensure best practices.
Essential Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
Extensive experience in contextual safeguarding, youth justice, or working with vulnerable young people.
Proven leadership skills with experience supervising and supporting staff.
Strong ability to work in a fast-paced, high-risk safeguarding environment.
Experience in multi-agency collaboration to address contextual safeguarding risks.
Commitment to learning, development, and innovative social work practice.
