We are seeking an Advanced Social Worker or Senior Social Worker to join the Community Forensic Social Work Team in Leeds. Based at the Newsam Centre, Seacroft Hospital, you will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to assess the needs and risks of forensic service users, their families, and carers. This role requires a proactive, values-driven professional who can coordinate social care services while maintaining strong Social Work principles and professional independence.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments of needs and risks for forensic service users.
Develop and coordinate innovative packages of support to promote independence and rehabilitation.
Provide social supervision and Ministry of Justice reports for conditionally discharged patients.
Deliver a range of social work interventions, ensuring high levels of collaborative risk management.
Work with inpatients in secure and acute settings, as well as service users in the community.
Engage with multi-agency safeguarding processes and contribute to Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA).
Conduct Care Act assessments, complex care planning, and risk management.
Prepare professional reports for Managers hearings and Mental Health Review Tribunals (MHRTs).
About You:
Qualified and registered Social Worker with experience in forensic, mental health, or learning disability services.
Strong risk assessment and management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with health, social care, and criminal justice partners.
In-depth knowledge of Health & Social Care and Criminal Justice legislation.
Experience working with individuals with complex needs and a history of offending or challenging behaviours.
Excellent report-writing and case management skills.
