To provide an excellent, customer focussed housing allocations service, processing housing applications and providing advice on housing allocations and homelessness as well as general advice for the housing service. Provide efficient, effective and accurate resolution of customer enquiries by resolving queries as first point of contact where possible and assigning the work to the correct Officer where further action is required.
Main responsibilities

To assist in the operation of the Council's allocation system, managing and updating the housing register, including registering applications and determining banding of new applications in accordance with Council policies, maintaining any casework records and validating applications. To assist the Housing Allocations Officers in the effective operation of the HomeChoice scheme including reviewing and amending applications, placing bids on behalf of customers, assisting with viewings and sign ups and keeping contemporaneous case notes. 50%
To provide housing advice and housing options in order to maximise the customers housing opportunities and to prevent homelessness. Provide housing advice to customers via face-to-face, telephone, written and electronic communication. To advise customers about housing options available.
To provide excellent customer service, during what can be a stressful and emotional time for customers. To ensure that all services are delivered efficiently, effectively and sensitively to all customers. The post holder will ensure the customer is at the centre of service delivery. 30%
To administer the allocations of the Council's garages ensuring that empty garages are relet in accordance with agreed processes and to answer customer enquiries relating to garages. 10%
To assist in the management of temporary accommodation for homeless people including preparation of paperwork and conducting signups. 10%
